So, you’re getting a like sick and tired of your kitchen’s sick and tired look, are you? Well, then we’ve got plenty of inspiration or you here, as we found an awesome DIY kitchen remodel project that’s truly awesome. The fine folks at Start @ Home, who keep a regular blog about their DIY home improvement projects, shared it. While there’s plenty else to enjoy from them, we think their kitchen remodel really takes the cake, as it demonstrates what can be done with a limited budget, some elbow grease, and more than a little creativity.

1. Before

We love the layout of this kitchen, but like the homeowner’s concluded, there’s no denying it’s tired “old school” look.

2. Cabinets

To really upgrade the look of the space, the homeowners took the cabinets off of the hinges and painted them white.

3. Raising Up

With the cabinet doors of the hinges, some of the bare cabinets were raised up to create a staggered look.

4. Custom Hardware

New hardware was also installed on the cabinet doors and sprayed with a special paint to give it that wrought iron look.
